Performetrica HPC Cluster Usage Policy

All users of the Performetrica HPC infrastructure agree to comply with the following rules.


1. Eligibility

  • Start-ups and researchers within Performetrica may use the HPC system.
  • External users may apply if they are involved in academic projects affiliated with a Turkish university.
  • All applications are subject to approval by Performetrica.

2. Account Management

  • Accounts are created and managed by the group supervisor (PI) via the HPC portal.
  • The PI confirms that users have basic Linux and HPC knowledge.
  • After activation, users gain access to HPC resources.

Users can:

  • Manage passwords
  • Submit jobs
  • View usage statistics
  • Access announcements and support

via the portal.


3. Access

  • Access is provided via SSH.
  • VPN access may be required depending on security policies.
  • All access is subject to Performetrica IT policies.

4. Software Usage

Users may run:

  • Licensed HPC-compatible software
  • Custom-developed parallel applications

New software must be requested via the portal or email prior to use.


5. Data Management

  • The HPC system is not intended for long-term data storage.
  • Users must:

    • Maintain backups
    • Remove data after use

System administrators may delete files older than 30 days without prior notice if needed.


6. Job Submission and Resource Usage

  • All jobs must be submitted via the job scheduler (e.g., Slurm).
  • Running compute jobs on login nodes is prohibited.
  • Resources are allocated based on fair-use principles.

7. Account Activity

  • Accounts are considered active projects without a fixed end date.
  • Users must confirm activity every 3 months.
  • Inactive accounts may be removed.

8. Security Responsibilities

Users are responsible for:

  • Protecting their credentials
  • Reporting suspicious activity immediately

9. Security Reporting

Users must report any suspected vulnerabilities or security issues immediately.


10. Acknowledgement Requirement

All publications using Performetrica HPC resources must:

  • Acknowledge Performetrica SuperComputing Center
  • Be reported via the HPC portal

11. Prohibited Activities

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Illegal activities
  • Actions compromising system security
  • Unauthorized commercial usage
  • Security testing or attacks on other systems

12. Sensitive Data

Sensitive data (e.g., national security, confidential IP) may only be processed with explicit approval.


13. Access Control

  • Users may access only their own data.
  • Unauthorized access to other users’ data is strictly prohibited.
  • Monitoring mechanisms may be in place.

14. Enforcement

Violation of this policy may result in:

  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent account termination
